Who am I?
I’m Lit Zhi Ong, a freelance designer from Malaysia. Currently, I am studying BA (Hons) Furniture and Product Design at Nottingham Trent University in the UK. In the past few years, I have worked as a Marketing Assistant in Versalink Holdings, as well as a CAD Designer in Kesan Tulin Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia.
As a designer, I strive to create bridges between the arts and the users by creating design solutions that not only is desirable but is also able to create meaningful conversations that will advance the field of arts and design. My final year works are designed for modern needs, influenced by my strong Malaysian Chinese heritage, to create a unique cross-cultural design.
Throughout my design career, I always see design as a way to push beyond current limitations in technological advancements. It is a combination of culture, philosophy, aesthetics and above all, usability. And it is this harmony of physical presence and intangible essence that make design such an interesting and intellectually stimulating discipline to me.
